GENERAL INFORMATION:
These classes require you to perform CPR. Comfortable clothes are recommended. This is not a place for small children and/or babies - you should arrange babysitters in advance prior to the start of your class. Participating in class while caring for a child/baby will not be allowed.
Waiting for someone is not permissible in the classroom. Every person must be registered who sits in the classroom. If waiting for someone is necessary, consider registering yourself for the class. Special circumstances allow for some latitude, please email us with any questions.
Course Objectives: Objectives for every class are listed on our class descriptions, please review them prior to arrival.
Program Resource Materials: are available before class, see book policy below. Please feel free to bring pen/paper with you to take notes.
ACLS Students: Please bring with you your 1) Student Manual, 2) your current BLS for Healthcare Providers card or copy of, and 3) the results of the precourse assessments you completed online. The results of your pre-course assessment are required to participate in the class, failure to bring your pre-course assessments with you the day of class will result in having to reschedule (see Cancellation / Rescheduling Policy below).

1) * * * * * CANCELLATION POLICY * * * * *
If you wish to cancel or reschedule please notify Chicago CPR Now immediately via email. Phone calls and voice mails are not acceptable.
Heartsaver CPR / AED (including First Aid) and BLS for the Healthcare Provider classes:
Cancellation – more than seven (7) days prior to the start of the class there is a $10 cancellation fee, cancelling within seven (7) days prior to the start of your class there is a $25 cancellation fee (see Promotional Code Policy as well).
Rescheduling – more than seven (7) days prior to the start of the class there is a $5 rescheduling fee, rescheduling within seven (7) days prior to the start of the class there is a $15 rescheduling fee (see Promotional Code Policy as well).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support:
Cancellation – more than seven (7) days prior to the start of the class there is a $25 cancellation fee, cancelling within seven (7) days prior to the start of the class there is a $50 cancellation fee (see Promotional Code Policy as well).
Rescheduling – more than seven (7) days prior to the start of the class there is a $20 rescheduling fee, rescheduling within seven (7) days prior to the start of the class there is a $35 rescheduling fee (see Promotional Code Policy as well).
Registration: It is the sole responsibility of the student to register for and attend the class necessary for their job purpose, if applicable. Please review our Frequently Asked Questions page and our class descriptions for information about the differences in the classes we offer. If you registered for the wrong class please contact Chicago CPR Now immediately so we can help you expedite the transfer in to the right class. You will then be responsible for the difference of the class including any associated fees with rescheduling (see above, and Promotional Code Policy below).
There are no refunds or credits to cancel or reschedule the day of class or thereafter.
Absent students, significantly late students, or "no shows" will not receive any refund or credit. The absent or late student will have to then register again for another class. While emergency situations will be taken into consideration on a case by case basis, do not wait to notify us the day of class or assume there will be any kind of refund. Email is the only means to contact us in this situation. Please be sure to review the Tardy Policy as well.

2) * * * * * CARD ISSUANCE / REPLACEMENT POLICY * * * * *
Card Issuance: Course completion cards are scheduled to be issued at the end of the class upon successful completion. Successful completion for BLS for Healthcare Providers and Advanced Cardiac Life Support includes a score of 84% or better on a multiple choice test to receive your card. There is no test for Heartsaver classes.
Card Issuance, in regards to rescheduling: If you chose to reschedule your class in another month that your course card has already been prepared for, you will have the choice to accept the card as is or have another card made to reflect the new month. There will be a fee associated with this (see below). Please take this into consideration if/when you decide to reschedule.
Replacement Cards: Replacement cards are available if necessary. You must demonstrate completion of the class. This is usually done by providing the date you took the class where we can verify your information against our records. Please print and save your receipt and this email to facilitate this request. In rare instances, a copy of an ID maybe required to complete your request - often this is due to a name change, however some other circumstances are necessary as it often helps facilitate your request.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support: $10
BLS for the Healthcare Provider: $8
Heartsaver CPR / AED (including First Aid): $8

3) * * * * * BOOK POLICY * * * * *
Books (or Student Manuals) are made available to students prior to all classes if they desire. Please note that books are not required for Heartsaver classes (CPR / AED, First Aid), or BLS for the Healthcare Provider. However, students taking Advanced Life Support are required to have a book in order to study before the class and to take a pre-course assessment (this assessment is required for admission to class).
Books issued are the current American Heart Association books for the specific discipline:

Chicago CPR Now holds no responsibility for the condition your book is in after shipping. Your book is shipped intact. Depending on the size of your mailbox and the handling it received, Chicago CPR Now is not responsible for damaged books.
ACLS Students: Books are available for purchase online when registering more then seven (7) days of the start of class. Within seven (7) days of the start of the class you have the option to pick the book up the day of class. Arrangements can be made to pick the book up at our office on some occassions prior to the start of your class. Please notifiy Chicago CPR Now immediately via email if you need a book prior to the start of the class when registering within 7 days. There are instructions inside the aCLS book on how to take a pre-course assessment, this assessment needs to be brought with you prior to the start of class (please assure that when you take the test online your computer is attached to a printer so that you can print the results). THIS ASSESSMENT NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT WITH YOU TO CLASS TO ASSURE ADMISSION. If you chose not to purchase a book at the time of registration but need a book before your class date please email us immediately so we can get the book to you in a timely manner, if possible.

4) * * * * * TARDY POLICY * * * * *
All classes have a scheduled start time. The nature of the classes we offer are learning based. Because of this, it is crucial that students receive the entire instruction, more importantly the initial instruction in the beginning of the class. If you are tardy whatsoever past the scheduled start time, you may be asked to leave. The above cancellation policy will then be effective. Phone calls, emails, and other communication are no substitute for being on time - the remaining registered students who arrived prior to the start of the class cannot be penalized for the tardiness of an individual. Please review our address and obtain directions if needed prior to the day of your class. Please arrive early enough to find our office, find parking (free parking on Ravenswood Avenue, east side of the tracks, in front of and around the building), and find your way to our office. Your anticipated cooperation is appreciated by the management, the instructor, and the other students.
5) * * * * * PROMOTIONAL CODE POLICY * * * * *
The use of promotional codes are at the discretion of Chicago CPR Now at all times. By using a promotional code (Promo Code) you hereby agree to the following conditions:
Chicago CPR Now assumes no responsibility if you fail to enter your Promo Code at the time of registration. Depending on the Promo Code, if we have the ability to apply it we will help facilitate your savings. However, Chicago CPR Now can often only apply half the original savings when we are able to apply it in retrospect.
If you decide to cancel or reschedule your class the promotional code will become invalid, where you will then have to pay the difference of the class plus any associated fees for rescheduling, as above.
Misuse of any promotional code will result in the delay in the issuance of your CPR card. Issuance will be made when satisfactory payment is complete, an additional transaction/convenience fee of $5 will also be applied per incident.
Promotional Codes are not valid on any Skills Checks (BLS or Heartsaver First Aid) or current discounted classes or specials.
If you are able to apply a code to these classes your card(s) will not be issued till the difference is satisfied, there will also be an additional $5 transaction/convenience fee applied per incident.
6) * * * * * CHICAGO CUBS NIGHT GAME PARKING / SPECIAL EVENTS * * * * *
While there is free parking in front of and around our building there are parking enforcements that everyone needs to be aware of when the Cubs are playing at home, at night (after 5pm) - and other special events at Wrigley Field. For this reason, classes are not scheduled on days when the Chicago Cubs are playing at night. However, there is a chance of games being rescheduled for reasons beyond our control. If this occurs students who have traveled by personal vehicle will be required to obtain a permit from the office of Chicago CPR Now before class starts and put it in their vehicle to prevent any kind of fine being issued. So, in regards to arriving early enough to find parking, our office, and arriving on time, during baseball season (April - October) you may be asked to place a permit in your car to prevent ticketing/fine while the Cubs are playing at home or during a special event. This permit will be required to be returned before your course card is issued. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope you understand.
In regards to parking, please do not call our offices inquiring about parking. If there is a need to have permits issued we will do so before class. We do not keep track of Cubs games and will not be able to answer your questions pertaining to the Cubs schedule or special events. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation.
